About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide direct patient care to an assigned group of outpatient clinic patients
  • Prepare patients for rooming, examinations and visits
  • Maintain efficient patient flow
  • Assist providers with treatments and procedures
  • Prepare and administer medications and immunizations
  • Remove sutures/staples and perform dressing changes
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Provide basic patient education
  • Set up aseptic and sterile procedures
  • Support clerical functions including scheduling, referrals, authorizations and in-basket support in electronic medical records
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
  • BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
  • Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (i.e. BLS)
  • Work in an outpatient clinic under provider supervision and PHS policy
