About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide PRN coverage for staff pharmacists at Presbyterian Sample Pharmacies and the Pharmacy Distribution center
  • Maintain departmental policies and procedures, objectives, PI program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
  • Verify, package, label and dispense medications
  • Advise patients and families on medication dosage, side effects and composition
  • Maintain professional growth through educational programs, current literature, in-services and workshops
  • Monitor medication use for appropriateness
  • Oversee technicians, interns and students
  • Participate in pharmacy staff education, meetings and committees
  • Train pharmacists, technicians, students and residents
  • Advise healthcare providers on optimal and cost-effective drug utilization
  • Perform other functions as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required
  • New Mexico Registered Pharmacist License required
  • Less than one year experience in pharmacy practice
  • Necessary practice skills to appropriately evaluate medication orders and prepare/dispense medications for the patient population served
