About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform high-quality radiographic examinations according to physician orders, departmental protocols and safety standards
  • Maintain compliance with department policies, procedures, quality assurance initiatives and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, provide instructions and ensure comfort
  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and produce diagnostic-quality images
  • Review images for technical quality and accuracy
  • Inspect and monitor equipment, supplies and accessories
  • Maintain inventory and stock required supplies
  • Prepare, organize and maintain examination rooms
  • Assist with transporting patients to and from imaging areas, inpatient units and the Emergency Department
  • Practice infection prevention, safety and patient handling techniques
  • Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses and healthcare team members
  • Participate in continuing education, training, workshops and professional development
  • Stay current with imaging technology, best practices and industry standards
  • Attend required departmental, organizational and staff meetings
  • Contribute to teamwork, professionalism and exceptional patient care

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree
  • Current New Mexico Radiography Technologist (RRT) License or Temporary Radiography License required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiography [ARRT(R)] preferred at the time of hire
  • Candidates hired without ARRT(R) certification must obtain certification within one (1) year of hire
  • Must maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment
  • Must meet all continuing education and regulatory requirements necessary to maintain licensure and certification
