About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings under general supervision
- Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
- Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets
- Paint structures and equipment
- Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
- Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
- Hang doors and install door locks
- Replace broken window panes
- Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Potentially perform sign-making duties and operate related equipment
- Purchase and pick up supplies and materials for projects
- Travel frequently between facilities
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Work at customer locations in offices, shops, warehouses, outdoor environments, crawl spaces, and rooftops
- May drive to and from worksite locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year of work experience in general building maintenance, or demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools and specialized equipment
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, or general carpentry trades
- Own tools may be required
- Ability to manage material resources and time
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to follow directions, instructions, structured processes and procedures, and complete tasks
- Customer service skills
- Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information and follow written and oral instructions
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and build effective working relationships
- Organizational, problem-solving, and common-sense skills
- Ability to travel to various facilities and work independently and as part of a team
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical/other training
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on local, state, and contract requirements
- Ability to lift boxes or equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools
- Ability to maneuver around equipment, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
