About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
- Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets
- Paint structures and equipment
- Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
- Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
- Hang doors and install door locks
- Replace broken window panes
- Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Perform sign-making duties and operate related equipment as needed
- Purchase and pick up supplies and materials for projects as needed
- Travel frequently between facilities
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- One year of work experience in general building maintenance, or demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools and specialized equipment used in electrical, plumbing, or general carpentry
- Use and maintenance of own tools may be required
- Ability to manage material resources and time
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to follow directions, instructions, structured processes and procedures, and complete tasks
- Customer service skills to respond to customer inquiries and escalate difficult matters appropriately
- Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information and follow written and oral instructions
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and build effective working relationships
- Organizational, problem-solving, and common sense skills
- Ability to accurately track material resources and time
- Ability to travel to various facilities and work independently and as a team
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical/other training
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Ability to maneuver around equipment, stand and walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and climb ladders or step stools
