About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, organize, and manage contractually provided HVAC and appliance maintenance and repair services for DFACs and facilities according to the PWS
- Manage compliance with contract terms, conditions, and obligations
- Supervise staff and ensure a competent, motivated workforce through hiring, training, counseling, supervision, and performance reviews
- Develop professional working relationships with key contract personnel and establish official communication lines
- Provide quality control, inventory management, record keeping, and management reporting
- Assist in developing, implementing, and managing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, including predictive testing and inspection of equipment and systems
- Ensure staff conduct work safely, including random toolbox safety topics
- Schedule and prioritize tasks while ensuring adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines and minimizing errors and safety risks
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Five years experience HVAC and appliance repair installation, including three years in a supervisory role
- Supervisory skills to hire qualified employees, provide professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes, and address employee relations
- Ability to supervise and develop an assigned team to meet production/service goals while adhering to safety policies and rules
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, make presentations, and respond to inquiries by senior management, customers, and employees
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team, customers, and public
- Advanced computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
- Knowledge of business English, including vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Mathematical skills involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to establish priorities and solve business, operational, and strategic management problems
- Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle multiple projects
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical/other training
- EPA Certification may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Fed Security Clearance may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- R410A Safety may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Valid Driver's License may be required depending on local, state, and/or contract requirements
- Ability to maneuver around equipment, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, climb stepstools or ladders, lift and move equipment up to 35 pounds, access rooftop equipment, and monitor computer systems and control displays
