Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings under general supervision
  • Replace electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors
  • Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings using plaster or compound
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets
  • Paint structures and equipment
  • Repair or replace concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks
  • Replace damaged paneling and floor tiles
  • Hang doors and install door locks
  • Replace broken window panes
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • May perform sign-making duties and operate related equipment
  • May purchase and pick up required supplies and materials for projects
  • Travel frequently between facilities
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
  • Work at customer locations in offices, shops, warehouses, or outdoor environments, including crawl spaces and rooftops
  • Follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned tasks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • One year of work experience in general building maintenance, or demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools and specialized equipment in electrical, plumbing, or general carpentry
  • Use and maintenance of own tools may be required
  • Ability to manage material resources and time
  • Ability to work safely
  • Ability to follow directions, instructions, structured process and procedures, and complete tasks
  • Customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests and escalate difficult matters appropriately
  • Communication skills to provide procedural and factual information and follow written and oral instructions
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities and build effective working relationships
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills
  • Ability to manage and accurately track material resources and time
  • Ability to travel to various facilities and work independently and as a team
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing ladders or step stools
  • Valid Driver's License may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements
