About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform clerical and physical warehouse support activities for the Navy Medical Readiness Logistic Command’s Expeditionary Medical System mission
  • Receive, ship, store, pick, dispose of, pack, unpack, and inventory general or specialized material and equipment
  • Use DMLSS, HIMS, or other Department of Defense-authorized databases to process Table of Allowances, Authorized Medical Allowance Lists, and Authorized Dental Allowance Lists
  • Train and assist workers in safe and proper work practices and equipment use
  • Perform inventory and documentation of supply stock; adjust stock levels and support disposal processes
  • Review, stock, and resupply medical logistics items, including removing expired or outdated items
  • Perform quality control on transaction records and file documents
  • Research quality assurance messages
  • Review documents, obtain missing information, and resolve inconsistencies or discrepancies
  • Receive, unload, inspect, segregate, label, and route incoming shipments
  • Perform inventory control, material handling, examination, identification, packing, and operation of material handling equipment
  • Stow material by assigned EXMED platform to support rapid deployment
  • Perform Pick, Pack, Preserve, and Crate activities for EXMED kits and shipments
  • Perform word processing, data entry, spreadsheet/database updates, email transmission, and electronic file maintenance
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assigned areas
  • Perform other assigned duties and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations
  • Ability to train employees in departmental practices and procedures, including safety and proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment
  • Must be able to understand, read, and write in the English language
  • Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Detail-oriented and highly proficient in adhering to local SOPs, Navy guidelines, and Department of Defense publications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Computer literacy and ability to look up and enter information using a computer
  • Minimal computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to learn specialized departmental software
  • Forklift, Scan Gun, and other material handling equipment experience preferred
  • Communication and customer service skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Organization, problem-solving, and common-sense skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • May require CAT Card Clearance, Forklift Certification, and Valid Driver's License depending on local, state, and contract requirements
  • Ability to work at an accelerated pace during emergencies or operational demands
  • Ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, and move items
  • Ability to lift and carry over 45 pounds
  • Ability to use a keyboard and monitor computer systems
  • Ability to maneuver around equipment
  • Must wear required PPE, such as steel-toe shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, glasses, and gloves
  • May be exposed to extreme cold or heat and background/equipment noise
