About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Diagnose residential drain and sewer problems accurately and efficiently
- Clear stoppages and restore proper flow using professional drain-cleaning equipment
- Operate electric cable machines, hydro-jetting equipment, sewer cameras, locating equipment, and other diagnostic tools
- Perform camera inspections and explain findings and available solutions to customers
- Identify repair, replacement, preventative-maintenance, and additional-service opportunities based on customer needs
- Prepare accurate estimates and review pricing, scope of work, and service terms with customers
- Complete service documentation, job summaries, photographs, estimates, and required paperwork accurately and on time
- Follow up with customers according to company procedures
- Maintain drain machines, tools, and equipment in safe working condition
- Keep the assigned service vehicle clean, organized, stocked, and ready for work
- Follow safety requirements, operating procedures, and safe-driving practices
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional-development opportunities
- Represent Fischer Services professionally, honestly, and respectfully in every customer interaction
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least two years of drain-cleaning, sewer-service, plumbing-service, or closely related field experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve drain and sewer problems
- Experience operating drain-cleaning equipment, sewer cameras, and hydro-jetting equipment strongly preferred
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical findings and service recommendations clearly, honestly, and professionally
- Confidence preparing estimates and presenting service options without high-pressure sales tactics
- Strong problem-solving, time-management, and follow-through skills
- Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the team
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable under company standards
- Washington plumbing trainee certificate or journey-level certification is helpful but not required
- Ability to satisfy applicable pre-employment requirements
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areas
- Ability to safely lift and move tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally move heavier equipment weighing up to 100 pounds with appropriate assistance or equipment
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures, weather conditions, and jobsite environments
- Ability to safely enter, exit, and operate a company service vehicle throughout the workday
