About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own assigned areas of the month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Meet a tight close calendar
- Analyze plant and customer/contract profitability
- Partner with operations on margin drivers
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain documentation and internal controls
- Reconcile and value raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished-goods inventory
- Investigate cycle-count and physical-inventory discrepancies
- Support reserve analysis
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and standard cost setting
- Assist with external audit, tax, and private-equity reporting deliverables
- Prepare schedules and respond to requests
- Maintain bills of materials and routings
- Execute standard cost rolls
- Analyze purchase price, material usage, labor, and overhead variances
- Drive process improvements and optimize ERP system use
- Report to the Controller
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Solid understanding of US GAAP
- Strong ERP experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- Comfortable working across finance and operations
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA preferred
- Experience with manufacturing cost accounting preferred
- Understanding standard costing in an inventory-intensive environment preferred
- Experience in cosmetics, personal care, food, pharma, or another regulated manufacturing industry preferred
- Experience with multi-plant or multi-entity operations preferred
- Exposure to a private equity-backed or high-growth environment preferred
- Primarily office-based work environment during regular business hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach as needed throughout the workday
- Must provide employment eligibility information; listed authorization categories include U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident and non-citizen work authorization
