About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join Printed.com's Engineering team as the company scales its platform across UK and US markets
- Develop features and improve platforms across PHP Symfony/Laravel applications
- Work with Vue.js front ends and full-stack technologies including JavaScript, SCSS, and Twig
- Contribute to applications and infrastructure running on AWS, including EC2 and EKS
- Work across concurrent feature development, platform, and infrastructure tasks
- Make sound technical decisions within the assigned area and execute against specifications
- Follow engineering practices including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation
- Support junior engineers through pairing and code review
- Adopt and provide feedback on evolving engineering tools, processes, and ways of working
- Report to the Technical Engineering Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Take ownership of well-defined problems and features, escalating ambiguity or unclear requirements to a Senior Engineer or Manager
- Comfortable debugging beyond surface symptoms, with support when root cause is unclear
- Work across a small number of concurrent workstreams, typically feature development alongside platform or infrastructure tasks
- Manage own time and flag priority conflicts early
- Follow engineering best practices including code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and documentation
- Provide constructive code review feedback to peers and junior engineers
- Adopt new tools, processes, and ways of working
- Support junior engineers through pairing and code review
- PHP with Symfony/Laravel, or comparable frameworks such as Rails, Django, or .NET
- JavaScript, SCSS, and Twig, or similar front-to-back stack
- Working knowledge of AWS, including EC2, EKS/containers, RDS, or similar services
- Good exposure to DevOps, platform, or infrastructure work
- Familiarity with observability tooling such as Grafana and Prometheus/Mimir is a plus
- Security-conscious development, including access control, dependency hygiene, and data handling
- Clear communication and willingness to ask questions and flag blockers
- Open to pairing with and learning from other engineers
- Some experience supporting junior engineers or interns is a plus
