About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate schedules for multiple procedures and specialties within rehab
  • Schedule patients to maximize therapists' productivity and optimize visit volumes
  • Follow up with non-respondent patients to schedule initial visits
  • Verify patient benefits and educate patients about benefits and insurance coverage
  • Calculate cost estimates and explain financial responsibility
  • Confirm and maintain service authorizations throughout the plan of care
  • Edit patient claims for clean payment submission
  • Collect and post payments and answer billing questions
  • Discuss available payment options and programs
  • Triage therapy referrals based on urgency and screen referrals for appropriate location and specialty
  • Document authorizations and attach them to appointments
  • Order supplies and submit invoices for payment
  • Maintain office cleanliness and submit work orders for broken equipment or facilities issues
  • Submit end-of-day deposits and accounting information
  • Sort and address incoming mail and maintain the cash box
  • Train staff on office guidelines and procedures
  • Answer phones and patient voicemails
  • Answer general questions about therapy and treatments
  • Greet incoming patients
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent or post high school education
  • Two (2) years admissions, billing, collections, insurance and/or customer service experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
  • Word Processing

  • Mathematical Skills
  • Registration and scheduling experience- Preferred
