About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting
  • Foster patient- and family-centered care
  • Perform nursing assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes activities
  • Collect patient data and complete nursing assessments
  • Develop, update, and communicate individualized plans of care
  • Coordinate discharge planning and appropriate referrals
  • Provide direct care to assigned patients within the RN scope of practice
  • Delegate nursing tasks and ensure completion
  • Monitor quality of care and patient safety
  • Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
  • Utilize technology, Micromedex, and computer resources in daily practice
  • Complete performance improvement monitoring and audits
  • Educate patients and families and evaluate teaching plans
  • Document patient care and communicate pertinent information
  • Serve as patient advocate and care coordinator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina
  • Willingness to float to various nursing units at the assigned Prisma Health facility
  • Ability to travel to the Hillcrest Medical campus (Simpsonville) as needed
  • Ability to work night shifts, including potential weekend, holiday, and on-call work
  • Knowledge of and compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements (TJC, DHEC, CMS)
  • Current professional licensure and completion of required mandatory education
