About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage assigned audit assignments, focusing on large and complex accounts
  • Analyze insureds' business operations and review financial/business records for classification-related data
  • Conduct audits to optimize timeliness and productivity
  • Resolve issues with insureds and cultivate working relationships with customers and agency partners
  • Assist the manager with Visual Audit Administrator rights, audit assignment ordering and transferring responsibilities
  • Approve audits greater than $10,000 in premium adjustments and process audits in the AGO system
  • Monitor and manage aged 120-day audit listings and make recommendations
  • Lead, direct and coach less experienced team members
  • Mentor staff, assist with new team member orientation and conduct formalized training presentations
  • Serve as main point of contact for the assigned region and resolve audit disputes and non-cooperative audit situations
  • Collaborate with managers and departments on operational objectives, efficiencies and special projects
  • Prepare reports and communicate audit results and decisions to customers
  • Identify issues for underwriters
  • Attend training seminars and travel, occasionally overnight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, insurance or related field
  • Ten years of field premium audit experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
  • Ability to learn new computer software applications
  • Attention to detail in processing information, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including formulating logical and objective conclusions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization and outside customers and clients
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Ability to attend insurance industry/business functions
  • Preferred advanced certification or training, such as Associate in Premium Audit (APA) or Certified Insurance Premium Auditor (CIPA)
