About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Accurately complete assigned workers’ compensation field audits in a professional and ethical manner
  • Establish appropriate classifications, exposures and basis of premium
  • Manage time and workload to maximize audits performed and minimize expenses
  • Recommend corrective action to resolve problems identified during audits
  • Prepare numerical and written reports
  • Advise appropriate parties of changes in customers’ operations, payrolls, attitudes and financial stability
  • Select audit assignments and manage territories, focusing on larger accounts, productivity, timeliness and expense management
  • Conduct audits by examining, verifying and recording classification-related data from financial and business records
  • Work remotely and independently with minimal oversight
  • Discuss issues with insureds to ensure understanding and maintain customer relations
  • Schedule assigned audits, transmit completed audits and manage inventory
  • Assist management, including training new staff
  • Handle and oversee audit disputes and non-cooperative audits
  • Communicate audit results and decisions to customers and identify issues for underwriters
  • Attend related training seminars and travel, possibly overnight

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, insurance or related field
  • Minimum of one year premium audit related experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications
  • Ability to learn new computer software applications
  • Attention to detail in processing information, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, including formulating logical and objective conclusions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization and outside customers and clients
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time
  • Ability to attend insurance industry/business functions
  • Must complete Behavioral and Cognitive assessments prior to being scheduled to interview with a hiring manager
