About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the technical planning, development, optimisation and delivery of website projects using CMS platforms, including WordPress and Shopify
Develop bespoke WordPress themes, plugins and functionality following best practice standards
Develop and deliver front-end responsive frameworks, website architecture and back-end functionality, including database and server integration
Collaborate with Project Owners and UI/UX Designers to assess requirements, estimate development effort and identify technical risks
Manage technical testing, website audits and performance optimisation
Lead troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrading of existing websites
Monitor live website performance and provide ongoing technical support
Attend client meetings, online and in-person, providing technical guidance, recommendations and solutions
Produce technical documentation and maintain accurate project records
Liaise with internal teams and third-party suppliers for technical coordination and delivery
Provide technical guidance, code reviews and mentoring to developers
Deliver web development training and mentoring sessions to clients where required
Support account growth by identifying new opportunities within existing client portfolios
Adhere to internal processes for time tracking, reporting and billing

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar web development role, with strong WordPress development experience
Advanced knowledge of WordPress, including custom themes, plugins and website functionality
Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL
Proven ability to take technical ownership of complex website projects, from initial planning through to successful delivery
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain high standards of website performance and quality
Experience using AI tools to support web development, with the ability to apply them effectively and identify opportunities to improve development processes and efficiency
Experience supporting or mentoring other developers
Willingness and ability to work in the office minimum 2 days per week
Passion for excellent customer service
Passion for digital and/or marketing
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Strong time management and organisational skills
