About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, maintain, and enhance geospatial data environments
- Ensure the quality, integrity, and documentation of internal and external spatial data
- Contribute to the evolution of corporate geographic data repositories
- Develop geocoding, standardization, and enrichment processes for territorial data
- Assess and integrate new geospatial and geodemographic data sources
- Develop and optimize geospatial data integration and processing pipelines
- Automate data acquisition, validation, transformation, and distribution processes
- Implement quality controls and contribute to the evolution of geospatial solution architecture
- Document processes, data flows, and business rules
- Perform spatial analyses supporting pricing, territorial segmentation, and risk assessment
- Produce maps, dashboards, and geospatial visualizations
- Support business partners in using geospatial data
- Contribute to the optimization of pricing territories and to geographic or geodemographic analytics projects
- Serve as a subject-matter expert in geomatics and spatial data
- Review analysts’ work, maintain quality standards, and promote knowledge transfer
- Contribute to the evolution of geospatial methods and tools
- Collaborate with actuarial, data, and technology teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in geomatics, geography (GIS), geomatics engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field
- Approximately 2 to 4 years of relevant experience; this guideline remains flexible based on demonstrated expertise
- Strong knowledge of geomatics, spatial data management, and geographic analysis concepts
- Very good knowledge of GIS tools (MapInfo, CartoVista, ArcGIS, or equivalent)
- Proficiency in FME or an equivalent data integration and automation tool
- Experience designing data pipelines and automating processes
- Knowledge of web services, APIs, and geospatial data exchange mechanisms
- Understanding of data governance and data quality principles
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance, territorial segmentation, or data management applied to business needs is an asset
