About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify meaningful AI use cases together with commercial underwriters, such as text and document analysis, information preparation, or risk data structuring.
- Support the design, testing, and further development of AI-powered assistant functions—from defining business requirements through to testing them in day-to-day work.
- Translate underwriting requirements into clear, actionable descriptions for IT, data, and AI teams.
- Develop and optimize prompts and use cases for commercial lines and liability insurance.
- Support the professional quality assurance of AI outputs and assess them for plausibility, completeness, and value to the underwriting process.
- Support the business unit in using AI through practical examples, prompt templates, knowledge-sharing sessions, or short workshops.
Requirements
What you’ll need- You are currently pursuing a degree, for example in business informatics, data science, computer science, mathematics, business administration, law, or a comparable field.
- You are interested in the practical application of artificial intelligence in the insurance industry.
- You have a basic understanding of modern AI applications, such as large language models, AI assistants, or RAG—or are keen to learn about these topics.
- You can present complex business and technical relationships in a structured, clear, and audience-appropriate way.
- You work analytically, independently, and carefully with data and information.
- You are comfortable approaching people, asking targeted questions, and collaborating with colleagues from the business, IT, data, and AI functions.
- Initial experience with generative AI, prompting, data or process analysis, or the insurance industry is welcome but not required.
