About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review assigned cases for civil action or probable cause
  • Prosecute misdemeanors and infractions
  • Review complaints, statements, police reports, and written subpoenas
  • Authorize issuance of complaints or information
  • Draft ordinances and other documents
  • Coordinate efforts with law enforcement agencies, government agencies, the public, attorneys, and office staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Valid, lawful Driver License
  • Must maintain active membership in the Utah State Bar Association
  • Admission to practice before all state courts
  • Admission to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah when required by the City Attorney
  • Successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check if selected for hire
