About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow and protect Medical Stop Loss revenue through broker and general agency meetings, new and renewal business, and expanded MSL coverage issuance
  • Deliver market-leading service and consultative solutions
  • Provide strategic direction on MSL products, services, and industry trends to regional distribution teams
  • Partner with regional Distribution segment leads and underwriting to build business plans supporting new and renewal sales and persistency targets
  • Gather and distribute self-funding and MSL marketing intelligence to GI Distribution and MSL leadership
  • Serve as an MSL subject matter expert for professional development, product knowledge, and market dynamics
  • Provide assigned-region Distribution employees with support, tools, and resources to grow MSL market share
  • Champion continuous improvement to increase customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to align producer and customer needs with Group Insurance strategy
  • Build and manage MSL producer partnerships and support a high-quality MSL RFP pipeline
  • Collaborate with the Regional Account Manager on RFP workflows, account implementation, producer communications, and internal support needs
  • Coordinate Marketing, Sales, and Support services for assigned accounts
  • Understand customer requirements and initiate actions to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Partner internally to resolve customer and broker issues promptly
  • Consult with producer partners and present products, services, and plan design information
  • Address customer questions and concerns about the product offering

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A minimum of 8 years proven sales experience in the self-funding and/or MSL marketplace
  • Proven track record building a profitable book of MSL business, including new and renewal accounts, and meeting business performance targets
  • Exceptional knowledge of and relationships in the GA/broker/producer GI and MSL marketplace
  • Ability to create a positive work environment focused on transparency, execution, and teamwork
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and partnership skills in cross-functional and matrix environments
  • Collaborative team player able to influence and execute key strategies and build and maintain organizational relationships
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate multiple functional areas in a matrixed organization
  • Strong understanding of the self-funded and MSL insurance industry from market and underwriting perspectives
  • Ability to analyze and understand financial and performance metrics
  • Ability to identify business trends, market-condition changes, and competitor activity
  • Active Life and Health Insurance license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
