About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contact customers to collect payment on overdue, defaulted, or write-off loans and other payments
  • Act as liaison between creditors and customers by managing overdue accounts
  • Influence and advise customers on payment options for debt recovery
  • Execute collection strategies and procedures
  • Negotiate payment plans based on company-approved guidelines
  • Build positive rapport with customers over the phone while initiating payment collection processes
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls to collect debt
  • Handle collection contacts professionally with empathy, assertiveness, tact, and resilience
  • Achieve set revenue targets and call quality objectives
  • Use questioning and listening skills for telephone, email, chat, and text communication
  • Adhere to and enforce corporate policies, including the Creed, Code of Ethics, and Information Security Policies
  • Assist collection efforts with customers requiring a Spanish-speaking collections agent

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year call center or customer service related experience
  • Three years of collections experience at a high-volume call center
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is required
  • Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both English and Spanish
  • Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information
  • Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing the industry/business and products
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships
  • Ability and flexibility to work hours as assigned between 8:00am and 10:00pm Monday–Friday, 8:00am and 3:00pm on Saturdays, and potential Sunday hours
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA and able to pass a background check
