Collections Agent
Purpose Financial. Contact customers to collect payment on overdue, defaulted, or write-off loans and other payments .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contact customers to collect payment on overdue, defaulted, or write-off loans and other payments
- Serve as liaison between creditors and customers by managing overdue accounts
- Influence and advise customers on payment options for debt recovery
- Execute collection strategies and procedures
- Negotiate payment plans according to company-approved guidelines
- Build positive rapport with customers over the phone while initiating payment collection processes
- Handle inbound and outbound debt-collection calls
- Communicate professionally with empathy, assertiveness, tact, and resilience
- Achieve revenue targets and call-quality objectives
- Use questioning and listening skills in telephone, email, chat, and text communications
- Adhere to and enforce corporate policies, including the Creed, Code of Ethics, and Information Security Policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year call center or customer service related experience
- Three years of collections experience at a high-volume call center preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Critical thinking, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through email
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing environment
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment
- Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information
- Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills
- Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing the industry/business and products
- Ability to develop and maintain business relationships
- Ability and flexibility to work assigned hours between 8:00am and 10:00pm Monday–Friday, 8:00am and 3:00pm Saturdays, with potential Sunday hours
- Must be eligible to work in the USA
- Must be able to pass a background check
