About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build the AI behind Pursuit’s contact and entity intelligence from millions of public documents
Work closely with the team and customers to understand the problems being solved
Work directly with the CEO and CTO
Build direct relationships with customers who use the product
Own outcomes end to end, select bets, ship solutions, and measure customer impact
Set time budgets, meet commitments, and raise risks early with recommendations
Help shape the product as part of the founding engineering team
Build web applications and backend services
Build and maintain CRM and ERP integrations
Design simple, scalable system architectures
Use off-the-shelf models to extract, parse, and reliably output data from PDFs, web pages, and other sources
Build evaluation and testing systems to compare model versions

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience shipping production software
Experience owning a product area end to end
Ability to work without a detailed specification; talk to customers, write briefs, and make decisions
System architecture expertise
Experience with cloud and AI services, event-based architectures, and complex database models
Comfort with ambiguity
Experience building web applications and backend services with complex data models and database interactions
Experience building and maintaining CRM and ERP integrations
Experience designing scalable system architectures
Experience using off-the-shelf models to extract and parse data from PDFs, web pages, and other unstructured sources
Nice to have experience with LLMs in production
Nice to have experience building model evaluation or testing systems
Nice to have early-stage startup experience
Experience with LLMs, Vercel AI, LlamaIndex, Langsmith, Mastra, NestJS, TypeScript, Express, MongoDB, Postgres, Turbopuffer, GraphQL, Apollo Server, AWS is a plus
Python experience is a plus
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require sponsorship for employment visa status
