About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze clients’ financial statements to ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Examine financial and accounting records, documents, inventory, plant, and equipment
  • Ask formal and informal questions of individuals at client organizations
  • Test client internal controls and processes
  • Build trust and credibility with clients by understanding expectations and delivering high-quality services
  • Research and understand key facts about the client’s industry before engagements begin
  • Communicate engagement progress, risks, issues, and budget or timeline variances to the Manager and/or Partner
  • Take full ownership of external file completion
  • Analyze engagement economics for self and field staff and explain budget variances
  • Review associate-level work and provide on-the-job training, coaching, and constructive feedback
  • Ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence requirements
  • Support business development by identifying and researching opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Coordinate with diverse teams from audit planning through completion and follow up on requested tasks to meet timelines and internal KPIs
  • Participate in digital initiatives and upskilling aligned with team business needs
  • Perform other procedures necessary to support issuance of assurance deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in accounting, finance or any other related academic major
  • Completed or pursuing a professional qualification, such as ACCA, CA, ACA, CPA (preferably)
  • Progressive experience at the Senior Associate level working with a range of external audit clients in a Big 4 professional services firm
  • Experience auditing a diverse range of industries
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is a plus
  • Business development and client relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to challenge norms and create a cohesive and effective working team
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Knowledge of audit technologies and experience using data analytics tools is a plus
  • Commitment to valuing differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
  • Thorough technical skills and experience with applicable accounting, reporting, and auditing standards, with demonstrated exceptional performance
  • Experience designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality
  • Previous experience coaching and leading engagement teams
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to research issues, present alternatives, and reach conclusions for clients and managers
