About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team of data engineers
  • Design and own the architecture of data pipelines and platforms using Databricks, Snowflake, MS Fabric, Azure, AWS, GCP, and other cloud-native technologies
  • Lead technical delivery of scalable, secure, and maintainable data engineering projects
  • Define and enforce engineering best practices and coding standards
  • Drive adoption of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
  • Guide data integrations between databases, applications, APIs, and cloud platforms, including batch and real-time integration
  • Mentor team members and conduct code reviews
  • Act as primary technical point of contact for clients
  • Lead technical workshops and present architectural decisions
  • Translate complex requirements into robust, well-architected data solutions
  • Progress toward the Cloud Data Platform Architect role

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience leading data engineering teams or projects
  • Strong technical and people leadership skills
  • Deep hands-on experience with Python, GIT, databases, OOP, testing, and design patterns
  • Strong track record delivering projects using Databricks, Snowflake, or MS Fabric
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Cloud certification, such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or GCP Professional Data Engineer
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical workshops and present to senior stakeholders
  • Data warehousing, data lakes, Lakehouse architecture, operational data stores, or data modeling expertise is advantageous
  • Multiple cloud certifications or expertise across more than one cloud platform is advantageous
  • Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and IaC frameworks at scale is advantageous
  • Experience with PySpark, Kafka, Airflow, or BigQuery is advantageous
  • Experience with enterprise-grade batch and real-time integration architectures is advantageous
  • Experience with AI, LLMs, or AI agents in data engineering workflows, such as RAG or prompt engineering, is advantageous
