About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Architect, design, and develop end-to-end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics
Design and implement data models within Azure Data Lake using Medallion Architecture
Ingest data from relational databases, APIs, flat files, and project management systems
Automate data workflows and implement CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
Identify and resolve data pipeline bottlenecks, partitioning issues, and cost-control challenges
Develop and maintain internal Python tools and applications, including Generative AI modules, automation scripts, and data processing pipelines
Build custom web-based dashboards and interactive reporting tools using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flask, Dash, or Streamlit
Integrate AI-driven solutions into project advisory workflows
Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, validation, and documentation
Review and validate project schedules and budgets, forecast project performance, and perform project risk assessments and monitoring
Assist with proposals and opportunity development for the Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice
Collaborate with project advisors, data analysts, and business stakeholders
Perform site visits and inspections as needed
Work on site, including travel to remote locations when required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Relevant experience in data engineering, software development, or a related technical role; internships, co-ops, and academic projects count
Exposure to or interest in capital projects, engineering consulting, project management, or construction management environments is an asset
Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve through ambiguous or unfamiliar technical challenges
Proficiency or working knowledge of Python
Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
Understanding of data pipeline development, data warehousing principles, and data lake architectures
Working knowledge of SQL
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python-based dashboard frameworks
Interest in or exposure to Generative AI modules and AI-driven solutions
Awareness of Azure security best practices
Willingness to travel when required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field is ideal
MBA or interest in obtaining a professional designation such as PMP or P.Eng. would be an asset
Experience with construction claims is a plus
Must be available to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not available
