About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support planning and delivery of client engagements, producing high-quality work on time and within scope
  • Develop analytical frameworks, workplans and testing approaches tailored to each engagement
  • Work directly with clients to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues
  • Provide practical insights and maintain engagement progress
  • Synthesize findings, develop recommendations, draft reports and presentations, and support implementation
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams and client priorities, escalating risks and reporting progress to Managers and senior leaders
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of personal and team technical acumen
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Participate in business development activities to identify and research opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Continue developing internal relationships and the PwC brand

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, accounting, law, information security, computer science, engineering or a related field
  • Relevant professional designation such as CAMS, an ICA qualification, ACSS, CFI, CAFP, the CIPFA Certificate in Fraud Risk Management or an ACFCS credential is preferred
  • 2–5 years of hands-on AML experience required
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end AML program, including governance, risk assessment, policies and procedures, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, investigations, reporting, training and independent testing
  • Experience in financial services and client-facing consulting or advisory work is an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within project teams and take ownership of assigned workstreams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High personal integrity, sound judgment, collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous learning
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Canada and internationally, as required
  • Knowledge of applicable financial crime regulatory requirements and leading risk management practices
  • Experience assessing, designing or enhancing financial crime compliance programs and risk management frameworks
  • Exposure to financial crime transformation initiatives is an asset
  • Awareness of current financial crime risks, regulatory developments, industry practices and enabling technologies
  • Ability to develop practical, risk-based solutions supporting regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
  • Experience assessing and improving first-line business processes and controls related to financial crime risk
