About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and evolve scalable, performant, and maintainable system architectures for AI, data, and platform components
Assess and refactor architectures based on business needs, technical innovations, and organizational maturity
Ensure alignment with the company’s technical strategy and architectural standards
Evaluate and validate DevSecOps and FinOps maturity using checklists and KPIs
Champion infrastructure-as-code, secure-by-design, cost-aware development, and efficient cloud resource usage
Review, enhance, and guide modern data architecture implementation
Oversee monitoring, logging, tracing, and health checks for operational excellence
Define and track SLAs to ensure technical compliance with client agreements
Act as the technical interface with clients on architecture-related matters
Translate complex technical concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Assess engineering practices, identify gaps, and drive adoption of CI/CD, automated testing, and AI/ML workflow automation
Promote automation-first principles and reduce manual delivery-pipeline overhead
Lead by example with minimal direct supervision
Mentor and upskill engineering teams while fostering learning, ownership, and quality
Provide architectural guidance and technical direction across multiple teams and initiatives
Collaborate with fellow Technical Architects and stakeholders to ensure cross-project consistency and technical alignment
Contribute to the long-term technical vision and strategic planning initiatives

Requirements

Strong communication skills to bridge technical teams and business needs
Mentorship-oriented approach fostering engineering growth across teams
Continuous learning and responsible application of technology shifts
Hands-on GCP experience with Vertex AI pipelines, GKE, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, and VPC/networking
Production-scale Terraform proficiency, including modules, state management, and drift detection
CI/CD design for ML workloads
Container and orchestration experience with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes operators
Secret management, IAM design, and workload identity federation
FinOps tooling experience with GCP billing export, budget alerts, and committed use planning
Experience building or migrating a platform from scratch
Experience with multi-tenant or multi-project GCP organization structures
Experience operating and supporting large-scale production platforms
Experience handling incidents, writing post-mortems, and carrying SLA accountability under pressure
Ability to understand failure modes at scale through practical experience
Enablement mindset focused on how quickly teams can ship
Ability to push back on platform features that create technical debt
Ability to diplomatically challenge clients, pillar heads, or C-level stakeholders
Ability to adjust communication depth and tone for technical teams, PMO, clients, and C-level stakeholders
Ability to escalate disagreements through appropriate channels
