About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage up to 25 equipment technicians across Fab, Fab Finish, and Test
  • Deliver the tool availability required for Operations to meet production schedules
  • Direct equipment maintenance activities by setting and communicating priorities
  • Partner with Production Supervisors to manage all aspects of the shift
  • Own performance management, year-end reviews, and career development for technical staff
  • Plan and implement initiatives that increase tool availability and reduce downtime variability
  • Manage maintenance costs, including overtime and spare-parts usage
  • Manage preventative maintenance schedules with Equipment Engineering
  • Develop technical training plans and ensure technicians achieve required certifications on time
  • Enforce PPE, LOTO, chemical-handling, equipment-safety, and cleanroom protocols
  • Maintain an accident-free work environment
  • Staff the shift by interviewing, hiring, and onboarding technicians and PM Specialists
  • Work with equipment engineers to resolve problems, highlight issues, and provide technical mentorship
  • Serve as an ERT leader for the shift
  • Report to the Director of Equipment Engineering as a member of the Engineering Department staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS degree in Engineering or Management/Business is preferred; other combinations of experience and education will be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience managing or leading a team of technicians in a Fab environment
  • Experience leading, organizing and facilitating cross-functional project teams
  • Experience developing and managing equipment performance metrics, including M-Ratio, MTTF, GTG times, and Availability
  • Experience identifying trends in tool performance and driving improvement
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with basic office applications such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience leading LEAN manufacturing efforts, 5S controls, Continuous Improvement, and Root Cause Analysis
  • ERT certification with experience in emergency response at a leadership level
  • Ability to manage brand-new equipment and legacy machines
  • Must be able to attend off-shift meetings and training
  • Must be able to vary hours as needed to coordinate with Monday–Friday engineering staff
