About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design GaAs, SOI, SiGe, and CMOS-based switches, LNAs, or RFICs for Front End Modules
- Work with Marketing and internal and external module designers to define switch/LNA/RF IC requirements
- Design, lay out, and evaluate laminates supporting switch characterization and development
- Use RF measurement equipment and troubleshoot measurement issues
- Collaborate with switch/LNA, filter, and module teams to integrate switch/RF ICs into modules
- Provide guidance on technical tradeoffs for cost-effective, best-in-class module solutions
- Support production readiness, including device characterization and production test-plan development
- Guide product engineering teams through yield optimization and transition to volume production
- Interact with modeling and tool providers to improve design-software predictability
Requirements
What you’ll need- BSEE required; MSEE preferred, with a focus on RF design
- 6+ years of experience with switch/RF IC design
- Extensive experience designing with HFSS, Cadence, and ADS
- Experience with conceptualization, design, layout, evaluation, and transfer to production of component designs
- Experience simulating GaAs, Silicon, and SiGe-based switches/LNAs/RF ICs in Cadence and Agilent ADS
- Experience working with modules involving filters preferred
- Experience designing laminates to support switch/RF IC evaluation and characterization
- Advanced hands-on knowledge of small-signal and linearity measurements using VNAs and spectrum analyzers
- Ability to troubleshoot measurement issues
- Experience with EM simulators such as Momentum and HFSS
- Experience with Front End Modules
- Experience supporting remote engineering teams
- Ability to work independently, communicate well, and execute to an aggressive schedule
- Ability to work from one of the listed U.S. locations
