About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support legal operations through project management, administrative, and legal activities
- Support all phases of real estate acquisition and disposition
- Review contracts and prepare critical dates, leases, titles, plats, surveys, closing documents, objection letters, utility easements, development agreements, escrow agreements, and other legal documents
- Conduct due diligence and support engineering processes and legal requests
- Preliminarily review post-closing documents for platting, permitting, remodeling projects, and finance initiatives
- Prepare and schedule internal and external calls and meetings, agendas, and follow-up actions
- Maintain reports for critical dates and permitting deadlines
- Communicate project status to business owners, suppliers, Legal Department members, Real Estate, and Engineering teams
- Participate in meetings regarding legal project status, critical dates, and deadlines
- Coordinate with title companies to obtain title documents, clear title insurance requirements, and coordinate closings
- Create and maintain legal files and closing binders for acquired, sold, or leased locations
- Collaborate with Legal Real Estate attorneys and department personnel throughout transactions, including post-closing
- Maintain knowledge of real estate processes, procedures, and documentation requirements in applicable states
- Assist with the Real Estate document library and transaction checklists
- Organize closing documentation and collect due diligence materials
- Support security, compliance, acquisition, and development information for property and facilities
- Perform other legal and general business tasks as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or further education, or equivalent job experience
- Three or more years of professional experience in a real estate role
- Strong understanding of real estate law and transaction processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in legal research and document management software
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet team deadlines
- Strong communication skills to exchange information, ideas, and feedback clearly and effectively
