About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform functional, regression, smoke, end-to-end, and integration testing of new and existing iOS functionality
Review specifications, identify risks and edge cases, prepare test cases and checklists
Validate redesigned UI across different screen sizes, device families, and iOS versions
Develop and maintain automated tests to expand regression coverage
Contribute end-to-end tests for new functionality and cover features lacking developer-written tests
Help migrate the existing test automation framework to Swift-based automation
Test REST APIs and JSON responses
Validate integrations and real-time data flows
Analyze network traffic using Charles Proxy or Proxyman
Investigate issues using device logs and debugging tools
Collaborate with the Android team on cross-platform functionality
Integrate and maintain automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
Use AI tools for test design, automation, code reviews, and debugging
Own the testing process end to end and drive features through testing to successful release

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience testing native mobile applications, with a focus on iOS
Understanding of platform-specific features, guidelines, and limitations (Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design)
Hands-on experience building and maintaining mobile automated tests using Appium, XCUITest, and/or Espresso
Ability to design a scalable test automation framework from scratch using patterns such as Page Object or Screenplay
Proficiency in at least one programming language used for test automation: Kotlin, Java, Swift, Python, or TypeScript
Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable test code
Solid understanding of functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing
Experience with equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, decision tables, and pairwise testing
Ability to write clear test cases, checklists, and bug reports
Experience testing REST APIs and working with JSON
Familiarity with Postman, Swagger, REST Assured, Retrofit, or requests
Basic understanding of WebSockets and real-time data testing
Experience using Charles Proxy, Proxyman, or Fiddler for traffic interception and mocking
Ability to inspect logs using Xcode Console, Android Studio Logcat, and adb
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Bitrise
Willingness to use AI-assisted tools in everyday engineering workflows
English at B1 level or above and Russian at C2 level
