About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare general ledger entries and maintain accounting records and files
  • Prepare account reconciliations for month-end close
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including bank reconciliations
  • Assist with annual audit and tax requests
  • Research and interpret accounting and financial data to answer questions
  • Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned regional operations, including the Regional Vice-President
  • Assist the Director of Accounting as needed
  • Perform other analyses and duties as assigned
  • Identify and resolve problems
  • Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public
  • Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) for document and report preparation in accordance with HIPAA Privacy Rule requirements
  • Follow HIPAA security policies, procedures, expectations, and professional responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, start-up, results-oriented environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience communicating financial results to operations leaders and answering questions about monthly results
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, with ability to analyze large data sets
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
  • Multi-entity/location physician services experience
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Experience with general ledger entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, bank reconciliations, audits, and tax requests
  • Skilled in Excel, including PivotTables, INDEX-MATCH, VLOOKUP, and large data sets
  • Understanding of HIPAA security policies and responsibilities related to protected health information
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
