About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support operation of Linux and limited Windows computer systems in a multi-/system server HPC environment
- Install and build system images to support software tests and security evaluations
- Interpret requirements and build supporting IT checklists
- Install and maintain security patches on development systems for new software releases
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure
- Provide cybersecurity support for application development, testing, and implementation
- Monitor and document system changes in accordance with the Configuration Management Policy for new images
- Develop, implement, and update Information Management Plans
- Provide information assurance support through security impact analysis (SIA) to the ISSO and ISSM
- Provide technical support as a System Administrator for the 96 Range Control Squadron (96 RNCS) and support test and evaluation missions for the 96th Test Wing
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or relevant field with 0-10 years of experience
- Experience with programming and scripting languages, such as C/C++, Bash, Python, or Perl
- Understanding of system virtual environments
- Knowledge of standard Linux principles and practices
- Compliance with DoD 8140.03 with Security+ certification
- Ability to quickly understand overall technical objectives and apply effective solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer interaction
- Dedication to achieving the mission of the 96TW and high standards of quality and excellence
- Ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance for future work
