About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own Oracle databases of large public-sector information systems from data model through production cutover
Design logical and physical data models and standards for naming, auditing, multi-tenancy and row-level security
Lead legacy-system migrations, including mapping, PL/SQL load packages, stage synchronization, reconciliation and character-set conversion
Build PL/SQL packages, views and reporting procedures
Administer Oracle APEX instances and workspaces and integrate them with external systems, identity providers and third-party services through RESTful APIs
Move schemas to OCI Autonomous Database and other clouds using Data Pump; configure DB links, wallets and network ACLs with the System Architect team
Design data warehouses and ETL with Oracle Data Integrator
Build reports in BI Publisher and Oracle Analytics Cloud
Tune performance through execution-plan analysis, query rewriting and index design for very large tables
Guide developers and external partners, review database code and estimate database work for new projects
Present technical designs to public-sector clients and write database sections of project deliverables
Provide third-level support for database, APEX and ORDS production incidents

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Database, SQL and PL/SQL on production systems
Proven experience designing databases for large OLTP systems
At least two end-to-end data migrations from legacy systems, from analysis to production
Strong performance tuning skills: execution plans, indexing, AWR / SQL Monitor
Experience with Oracle APEX and/or ORDS
Fluent Greek, as deliverables for our Greek public-sector clients are written in Greek, and very good English
Clear communication with developers and clients, and the habit of documenting your work
Nice to have: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Autonomous Database, Data Pump, cloud migrations
Nice to have: Oracle Data Integrator, BI Publisher or Oracle Analytics Cloud
Nice to have: Oracle Forms/Reports to APEX modernisation
Nice to have: Oracle ADF / WebLogic
Nice to have: SQL Server or PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL)
Nice to have: Python for data-loading tools
Nice to have: LDAP, Active Directory or Entra ID integration, REST and OAuth
