About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide field leadership and oversight for electric distribution line construction projects throughout the Conroe, Texas area
- Manage and inspect day-to-day activities of multiple electric contractor crews
- Facilitate electric infrastructure installation while ensuring compliance with safety standards, company specifications, and governmental regulations
- Manage projects to meet cycle-time and cost objectives
- Oversee contractors performing electric cable installations and cut-ins
- Notify federal, state, and local agencies before, during, and after construction as required
- Coordinate with customers to determine requirements, sequencing, and site readiness before construction
- Maintain regular contact with contractor supervision and document job performance
- Ensure distribution contract terms and technical specifications are met
- Verify key unit quantities
- Make and document field decisions regarding job changes and communicate them to supervisors and program or project managers
- Schedule and coordinate required electric system outages
- Perform weekly crew safety audits and document results in the Asset Suite Safety Audit/Observation Tool
- Coordinate permits and work-with requirements with third-party utilities and permit agencies
- Review and approve contractor-submitted documentation
- Communicate job status to facilitate scheduling commitments
- Maintain customer coordination and conduct completion walk-downs with customers and contractors
- Perform storm duty assignments as needed
- Report to the service center, jobsite, or remote location
Requirements
What you’ll need- Thorough knowledge of company work, environmental, and safety practices
- Working knowledge of electric operations
- Ability to maintain or obtain switching and outage authorization
- 10+ years of construction management oversight
- Thorough knowledge of PC and job/work management applications, including AS8, Atlas, Mobile Maps, and MS Office Suite
- In-depth knowledge of materials, construction standards, OSHA regulations, and safety requirements for electric distribution and substation construction
- Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments
- Ability to stand, walk, and traverse uneven terrain for extended periods
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and navigate multi-level structures
- Ability to frequently bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, and reach
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds with assistance
