About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform testing, maintenance, and repair of low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control, and other electrical apparatus in the shop and field
- Perform Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and timing tests on low- and medium-voltage breakers
- Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including teardown, refurbishment, and parts replacement
- Wire circuit breakers
- Utilize and accurately read test equipment
- Read schematics and wiring drawings
- Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls
- Read and plot time-current curves
- Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR
- Accurately and consistently document using Power DB
- Work with electrical tools and socket sets
- Travel approximately 50% overnight
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma
- 3–6 years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
- Minimum 3 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
- NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred
- Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
- Perform regular field work indoors and outdoors
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, and management ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing
