About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform testing, maintenance and repair of low- and medium-voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and field
- Perform testing on low- and medium-voltage breakers, including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current and timing tests
- Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including teardown, refurbishment and parts replacement
- Wire circuit breakers
- Utilize and accurately read test equipment
- Read schematics and wiring drawings
- Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls
- Read and plot time-current curves
- Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR
- Accurately and consistently document using Power DB
- Work with electrical tools and socket sets
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
- Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
- Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
- Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing
- Ability to perform 50% overnight travel
