About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in Qualus University's Summer 2027 Engineering Boot Camp beginning June 2027
  • Perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower
  • Apply knowledge of low- and medium-voltage equipment to determine cost-effective mitigation solutions
  • Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers
  • Perform data collection activities
  • Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs
  • Interpret new construction drawing packages
  • Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files
  • Develop or update equipment control schematics, one-lines, three-lines, and wiring diagrams
  • Work on project teams while supporting quality and project management goals
  • Meet project deadlines and support processes and procedures
  • Maintain technical skills related to electrical substation design and protection and control schematics through on-the-job work and formal training
  • Execute small to medium-sized projects with limited oversight
  • Self-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability within budgeted estimates
  • Coordinate activities with other departments and customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, with a focus on power systems; Mechanical Engineering degrees accepted for some roles
  • Ability to travel 50-70% of the time
  • Microsoft Office product application
  • Knowledge of test equipment and tool/wiring usage
  • Ability to work independently and accurately, with high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to discuss technical recommendations with customers
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid Driver's license and good driving record
  • Educational experience directly related to working with medium to high voltage electricity preferred
