Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide strategic project management leadership for large and complex electric substation projects
  • Lead projects through internal and external processes and navigate the project life cycle
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and cost
  • Make key project decisions
  • Manage a collaborative project team and ensure functional disciplines meet planned scope, schedule, and cost
  • Coach, resolve conflicts, facilitate, motivate, and negotiate across the project
  • Lead project meetings
  • Develop, update, and manage the project plan
  • Coordinate communications and provide stakeholder status updates
  • Assess project risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Manage requests for information and action items
  • Ensure adequate project resources
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 10–15 years of experience, including 3 or more years managing major engineering/procurement/construction activities
  • Knowledge and experience in overhead, substation, and underground project segments
  • Schedule and budget management experience
  • PMP Certification is desired
  • Demonstrated financial management experience, including cash flow forecasting and management for capital projects
  • Purchase Order (PO) financial tracking and oversight
  • Financial risk assessment and mitigation
  • Capital portfolio financial planning, monitoring, and performance management
  • Identification, evaluation, and communication of financial risks and opportunities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects, meet deadlines, and set priorities
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Proficiency in problem analysis, alternative-solution identification, and implementing recommendations supporting project scope, schedule, and cost objectives
  • Excellent leadership, verbal/written communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • High work standards and understanding of business environments and processes
  • Problem-solving, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Commitment to self-development, expertise, self-confidence, and integrity
