About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Test relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switchgear in the field, including synch check and point-to-point testing
  • Perform and lead field crews for testing, maintenance, and repair of breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor controls, and associated equipment
  • Prepare and document site projects
  • Evaluate department talent, identify training needs, and recommend action plans
  • Identify and secure equipment needs for shop and field operations
  • Provide daily site summaries in coordination with the assigned project manager
  • Provide weekly production status reports to project management, operations managers, and Service Assistant
  • Attend and contribute to project kickoff meetings
  • Support project budget adherence
  • Instruct and train others
  • Assist sales efforts with labor estimates and job walks when necessary
  • Remain current on safety and technical training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years’ related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control schemes
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience
  • Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (including reading and writing)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, and management ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
