About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Map and maintain the company’s export control exposure across products, technologies, partners, and suppliers
  • Perform product classification and assess licensing requirements
  • Monitor regulatory, sanctions, and geopolitical developments
  • Assess potential impacts on company activities and provide recommendations to management and stakeholders
  • Build export control processes and guide internal stakeholders, including for sensitive transactions and international projects
  • Coordinate export license filings with Legal and relevant public authorities
  • Prepare guides, awareness materials, and training sessions
  • Run periodic checks to ensure export control assessments, decisions, and records are documented and current

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in export controls
  • Experience within a government department, public administration or other state institution is mandatory
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. export control rules, including the EAR
  • Good understanding of EU export control rules and sanctions
  • Experience assessing products, technologies, partners or suppliers from an export control perspective
  • Ability to build clear, practical processes in a growing company
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with technical, legal, commercial and operational teams
  • Professional fluency in English and French
  • Experience in deeptech, defense, aerospace, cybersecurity, AI, semiconductors, or another sensitive technology sector
