About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide Mechanical & Automotive Lead subject matter expertise across Mobile Fires Platform contracts
  • Identify and analyse technical hazards and project impacts, and contribute to risk-reduction measures
  • Ensure engineering contractual deliverables meet MoD Policy requirements and systems requirements are met
  • Document and manage technical risks
  • Review and authorise contractor-produced technical data, identify non-compliances, and manage them to closure
  • Support legalisation assessments and provide technical input to legislation exemption committees and contractor meetings
  • Manage system test, verification, validation, and evaluation processes
  • Plan V&V, scrutinise contractor-supplied V&V data, and produce technical reports after trials
  • Manage and participate in assurance, audit, and review activities
  • Produce or supply technical information to support assurance activity
  • Support reviews and authorisation of contractor technical publications
  • Provide technical feedback on contractor-supplied technical documentation
  • Attend and support safety panels and hazard-log working groups
  • Ensure systems safety risks are understood and managed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current SC Clearance required for the duration of the requirement
  • Knowledge or experience of military land vehicles and associated systems
  • Ability to work a minimum of 2 days per week in office at ABW or contractor location
  • Availability for travel within the UK and EU may be required
