About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and lead integrated communications strategies for destination clients
  • Provide strategic direction to clients and team members
  • Lead client success and satisfaction across a portfolio of hospitality accounts
  • Manage a team of 3 members and oversee their account work
  • Ensure deliverable goals are met or exceeded
  • Maintain client relationships through meetings, travel/events, conference calls, agendas, notes, and reports
  • Train, coach, edit, mentor, and provide leadership to account executives and senior account executives
  • Deliver strategic media results and measurement
  • Support crisis communications as needed
  • Identify stories and pitches; write and edit press releases, media alerts, photo captions, and media pitches
  • Develop relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers
  • Generate ideas and campaigns and participate in brainstorms
  • Recommend, source, and implement strategic events and partnerships
  • Develop influencer strategies, research, campaign ideas, and communications management
  • Escalate client issues with suggested solutions and independently handle minor issues
  • Research and analyze clients and the marketplace
  • Oversee detailed monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Monitor industry news, trends, and technology; attend events and network

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Six to seven years of work experience in travel/lifestyle and restaurant/FWS PR
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Minimum one year in a supervisory capacity managing at least 2 junior team members
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment
  • Proven ability to lead a team and work independently
  • Experience resolving client issues quickly and efficiently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding team player with a positive attitude
  • Experience launching campaigns with non-client partners
  • Solid portfolio of secured media coverage across national, magazine, newspaper, TV, and digital outlets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the travel industry and media, including relevant bloggers and influencers
  • Proven crisis communications experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in reporting platforms: Muck Rack, Meltwater, and Tagger
  • Resume, cover letter, and relevant portfolio links or case studies required for application
