About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support QVC or HSN and coordinate style development from concept through fit approval and graded spec release
- Provide technical support on aesthetic, fit intent, specifications, patterns, construction methods, and techniques
- Establish pattern blocks and initial block specifications to maintain fit consistency
- Ensure standard grade rules are applied to each garment
- Establish category and brand standards for fit, construction, and quality
- Complete technical specification packets with measurement specifications, construction details, tolerances, and performance standards
- Communicate garment creation information, corrections, and approvals to vendors and factories
- Identify potential production, quality, and costing issues and make recommendations
- Evaluate garments for compliance with specifications, construction, fit intent, and aesthetic
- Participate in fit sessions on live models and mannequins
- Make fit and construction adjustments with vendors and factories
- Ensure deadlines are met and support T&A calendar objectives
- Enhance and evolve technical design processes with Technical Design leaders
- Collaborate with design, sourcing, merchandising, QA, sourcing offices, and vendors
- Manage workload for assigned brands
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in fashion design or related program
- Minimum 2-3 years industry experience within Technical Design or Patternmaking
- Knowledge of the entire product development cycle and all related milestones
- Technical skills in product development, garment construction, and fit
- Technical skills in product development, garment construction and fit
- Knowledge of woven, knits, sweaters, intimates, swimwear, and outerwear categories
- Ability to coordinate style development from concept through fit approval and graded spec release
- Job seekers must reside in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Delaware
