About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the on-air assortment for assigned merchandise categories and build on-air strategies under the supervision of the Buyer II
  • Develop terms and purchase items that exceed customer expectations
  • Analyze item, category, and on-air sales to follow trends and react to performance
  • Analyze vendor and category productivity
  • Evaluate customer-buying behaviors and identify trends
  • Maintain product elevation and quality when selecting products
  • Perform daily office functions, including maintaining spreadsheets and item creation
  • Help train the Intern and Assistant Buyer on daily office operations
  • Handle Quality Assurance issues and demonstrate product expertise
  • Partner with internal teams to maximize product lifecycle efficiency and manage the order process
  • Establish relationships with DDGS, Quality Assurance, Category Production, eCommerce, Legal, Social Marketing, Multi Channel Planning, Sales, and Planning
  • Establish vendor relationships and handle vendor communication, education, and preparation
  • Return vendor calls and give oral and written presentations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5 years of corporate merchandise buying experience
  • Advanced spreadsheet macro-writing skills
  • Product expertise
  • Ability to analyze item, category, and on-air sales
  • Ability to analyze vendor and category productivity
  • Ability to evaluate customer-buying behaviors and identify trends
  • Ability to maintain spreadsheets and create items
  • Quality Assurance issue handling experience
  • Ability to develop vendor relationships and communicate with vendors
  • Oral and written presentation skills
  • Mentor skills and ability to invest in others
  • Must reside in PA, NJ, or DE
  • Ability to work onsite in West Chester, PA several days per month
  • Relocation assistance is not available
