About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own Qutwo's security and compliance programme across products and cloud platforms
  • Ensure the company meets certification and regulatory obligations as it scales
  • Set security direction and standards
  • Lead Qutwo through formal security certifications such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2, including gap analyses, control frameworks, audit readiness, and coordination with auditors and accrediting bodies
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, NIS2, the EU AI Act, and emerging European AI regulations
  • Define security requirements for products and cloud platforms and ensure they are met across teams
  • Own the security roadmap, policies, and risk register
  • Translate business and customer requirements into clear priorities
  • Lead security risk assessments and vendor security reviews
  • Own the incident response framework
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, engineering, and office IT security teams
  • Serve as senior point of contact for customer security reviews, questionnaires, and audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years of experience in information security, security governance, or compliance, including leading a security or compliance programme
  • Proven track record of taking an organisation through formal certification such as ISO 27001 or SOC 2
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR and European regulatory frameworks
  • Judgment to build a compliance programme rather than just administer one
  • Solid technical understanding of cloud platforms and product security
  • Ability to work credibly with engineers without needing to own every technical detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management and ability to lead through influence across technical and business teams
  • Experience owning security budgets and managing vendor relationships
  • Experience in defence-sector contracting, security clearances, or government security requirements is a plus
  • Experience with EU AI Act compliance and emerging European AI regulation is a plus
  • Experience with security for AI, HPC, or research environments is a plus
