About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and support HIM staff through hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and daily operations
  • Oversee day-to-day HIM functions across assigned facilities, including medical records, release of information, and amendment requests
  • Drive consistency in HIM tools, processes, and best practices across sites
  • Partner with leadership, physicians, and medical staff to address documentation gaps and improve record completion
  • Monitor KPIs and help resolve documentation issues affecting coding, billing, or record completion
  • Prepare and share performance reports, site visit updates, and operational statuses with leadership
  • Support regulatory reviews, accreditation readiness, and compliance with HIM standards
  • Travel between assigned facilities to provide onsite support and maintain strong relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 4 years of HIM experience, including at least 2 years in a management role
  • RHIA or RHIT certification required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to lead in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach
  • Ability to travel between assigned sites
