About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own analytical assessment of financial, operational, and client performance across a large-scale Self-Pay portfolio
  • Serve as strategic advisor and day-to-day performance partner to operational leaders, the client partner, and client stakeholders
  • Lead revenue cycle transformation initiatives focused on patient cash acceleration, bad debt reduction, charity optimization, automation, and operational efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement delivering measurable financial value and cost savings
  • Translate data into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations using SQL and Snowflake analysis
  • Lead and influence cross-functional operational, analytical, technical, and client-facing teams
  • Develop strategies improving patient financial outcomes while reducing administrative burden
  • Develop integrated patient engagement strategies across texting, dialing, email, and other channels
  • Build credibility with senior executives through proactive communication, operational transparency, and consistent execution
  • Hold vendors accountable for performance, service levels, and results; communicate vendor performance to client leadership
  • Identify risks, trends, opportunities, and performance gaps before escalation
  • Partner with operational leaders through dotted-line accountability to establish priorities, monitor execution, and resolve performance gaps
  • Serve as conduit to Patient Access, Payer Yield, and upstream teams to improve point-of-service collections, demographic and address accuracy, statement readiness, and patient-responsibility balance accuracy
  • Partner across payer yield, billing, and collections functions to improve patient-responsibility accuracy and flow across HB and PB
  • Use Epic, Snowflake, advanced SQL, reporting platforms, and operational analytics to identify opportunities and drive improvement
  • Influence executive decisions through facts, insights, business cases, and measurable outcomes

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 10+ years of progressive Revenue Cycle leadership experience
  • Experience leading Self-Pay, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Cycle Operations, Bad Debt, Early Out, Patient Cash, or related functions
  • Deep working knowledge of self-pay accounts receivable across hospital and physician practice environments, including HB and PB workflows and their convergence within an Epic Single Billing Office (SBO) model
  • Ability to influence large-scale operational teams and drive accountability without direct reporting authority
  • Demonstrated success managing executive-level client relationships
  • Strong financial acumen with experience owning operational performance, budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Advanced analytical skills, including complex SQL queries, Snowflake, and large datasets
  • Experience with Epic and enterprise reporting tools
  • Knowledge of state guidelines and collection regulations
  • Ability to lead transformation, change management, and process improvement initiatives
  • Hands-on knowledge of Epic builds, configurations, and work queues
  • Experience partnering with IS and vendors through technology implementations, vendor changes, and large-scale SBO transformation
  • Preferred: Experience supporting large integrated health systems
  • Preferred: Prior experience leading an Epic Single Billing Office team responsible for self-pay operations spanning HB and PB
  • Preferred: Consulting or client-partner leadership experience
  • Preferred: Track record of reducing bad debt, improving patient cash collections, and optimizing patient financial experience
