About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and operationalise advanced AI solutions for Business Lending
- Design and deliver AI solutions for decision support processes
- Apply document intelligence, knowledge retrieval, analytical workflow automation and AI-powered colleague support
- Develop traditional machine learning applications for credit decisioning, risk segmentation and underwriting
- Evaluate and select foundation models, LLMs and AI approaches for Business Lending use cases
- Build AI solutions combining foundation models with proprietary data and domain knowledge
- Apply NLP and GenAI techniques to extract, classify and enrich information
- Design evaluation frameworks comparing models and approaches based on quality, robustness and business value
- Collaborate with ML Engineers and Data Engineers to turn experiments into scalable production solutions
- Lead AI solution design, evaluation and continuous improvement from experimentation to production
- Apply prompting, RAG, model optimisation and orchestration to build domain-specific AI solutions
- Develop models using traditional and alternative data for credit assessment, risk segmentation and real-time or near-real-time decisioning
- Ensure robust, explainable and reliable AI solutions through evaluation, testing, versioning, deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management
- Define technical standards, guide architectural decisions and contribute to AI practices across the organisation
- Provide technical leadership, coach junior and medior colleagues, and collaborate with stakeholders across Rabobank
- Contribute to the AI roadmap and collaborate with AI communities across Rabobank
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Econometrics or another relevant quantitative field
- At least 10 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
- Extensive experience taking models and AI solutions from experimentation to production
- Experience developing AI solutions using prompting, RAG, and evaluation methodologies
- Hands-on experience with NLP, LLMs, retrieval systems or agent-based solutions
- High proficiency in Python and ability to write maintainable, testable and production-quality code
- Experience with Azure, Databricks, building AI pipelines and comparable cloud-native AI platforms
- Strong understanding of MLOps and model lifecycle management
- Understanding of Responsible AI, governance, explainability and risk management
- Ability to translate complex business challenges into practical AI solutions and influence technical decisions
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to contribute to AI community growth through mentoring, knowledge sharing and best practices
- Based in the Netherlands and able to regularly work from the Utrecht office
- A case study and reliability assessment are part of the procedure
